Required Author Attestation
All evaluations under the Human Standard™ begin with a required attestation completed by the author and, where applicable, the publisher and any additional contributors.
This attestation provides a structured account of how the work was created, including:
- AI tools used at any stage of development
- The role of the primary author
- Contributions from editors, ghostwriters, or other collaborators
- The extent of human direction and oversight throughout the process
Submissions are only accepted once a complete and accurate attestation has been provided.
This requirement establishes a transparent and accountable foundation for evaluation under the Human Standard™.
Custom Authorship Analysis
A custom-built AI authorship assistant, developed by the Human Standard Institute™, analyzes linguistic patterns, structure, and stylistic signals associated with AI-assisted or AI-generated content.
The system is designed specifically for authorship evaluation within publishing contexts, supporting consistent and scalable analysis.
This step provides an informed assessment to support review, not a final determination.
Expert Human Evaluation
Based on the topic and genre of the work, the Human Standard Institute selects from a curated network of trained human reviewers to evaluate the content.
Each reviewer applies a consistent, structured assessment framework to provide an informed, independent perspective on authorship and the level of human involvement.
1
Authenticity of Voice
Does the work reflect a natural, human voice with nuance, variation, and intent?
2
Originality and Insight
Does the content demonstrate original thinking, perspective, or lived experience?
3
Structural Coherence
Does the organization of ideas reflect deliberate construction and flow?
4
Depth and Specificity
Does the work include concrete detail and contextual depth?
5
Overall Human Presence
Does the work reflect meaningful human direction and authorship?
This evaluation ensures that human judgment plays a central role in the final designation.
Assignment of Classification
Following analysis and review, content is assigned a designation under the Human Standard:
- Human Certified (HC)
- Human Guided (HG)
- AI Generated (AIG)
Additional Inputs
Where applicable, information provided through attestation is considered alongside analysis and review to support accurate classification.
All inputs are evaluated as part of a structured and consistent process.
